More inforamtion:My interest in psychotherapy developed thirty years ago when I was working as a Registered Psychiatric nurse in a large public psychiatric hospital. After which I worked in Private Hospitals in a mood disorders unit and post-natal depression unit. Later I worked in Adult Mental Health, Child and Family Community Health Services. I completed my B.A. (Social Sciences) which was followed up by M.A. Couple and Family Therapy and finally my PhD Depression in the Workplace.
During this time I have worked with families who are experiencing difficulties in adapting to living together, blended families, same sex families, adopted children in families, transitioning families, breaking down families, secrets in families, betrayal in families, problems with extended family members, wills, divorces, and illnesses in family. This list is by no means completed it is meant to signify the range of problems that are not unique but part of people's life path. All family issues are treatable.
My interest in individuals with mood disorders such as depression, anxiety, phobias, insomnia, stem from working in mood disorder units where I worked one-on-one and conducted group therapy for many years.
Couples therapy is about people in new relationships, people who are ambivalent about committing to relationship, people wanting to leave a relationship, people wanting to find a new partner, and people who want to reinvent themselves as a single person.
